Born April 26, 1977 in New York, Tom while spent most of his younger years moving around from school to school. After high school Tom decided to take up modeling, since being a student wasn’t his thing.

After a few years of modeling in Europe and New York, as well as traveling around the world, Tom decided to take up acting. So he and his girlfriend at the time Jamie (who’s now his wife) decided to move to California for a while. He promised himself and Jamie that he was going to give acting a try for a year and if after that year he didn’t go anywhere with the entertainment industry he was going to go back to New York.

Luckily he got his first big break with the show Judging Amy; he landed a total of six episodes, which he was signed on for only two. But since the viewer just loved him in it, they decided to keep him in for a few more episodes.

After wards, as he continued his search for more roles. He landed the role of Clark Kent on Smallville, a role that was a nationwide search. At first Tom wasn’t too sure he wanted to play a young Clark Kent, knowing that most actors who ever played that role have been labeled with that role till this day. But after learning more about the story and what the writers had plan Tom started to really like the idea of young Clark Kent. So he agreed to play the role of the boy that one day becomes the man of steel.
