Comic Update! posted by Webmistress on 8-16-2007 @ 7:43pm

Here's a set of scans for you guys. They are all from Superman comics, about the mid-80s and soon after Superman III, but just before Bryne's reboot. It was an interesting time in Superman comics. Here's the background:

Right before Bryne did his famous reboot of Superman, the comics began an interesting storyline. Superman and Lois had been dating (This drove me cazy as a kid, teenager and adult. If you have a secret identity to protect your loved one, why do you openly date as Superman?). But it didn't work out and the two drifted apart. Then something interesting happens, Lana Lang returns and becomes Clark's co-anchor (this was the time period when Clark did TV news). When Superboy and Superman accidently switch minds temporarily, Clark (with Superboy's feelings and thoughts) starts dating Lana. When the mind switch wore off, it doesn't end the relationship. For a while in the comics, Clark and Lana become lovers as adults. It was interesting. Lana loved Clark because he was so down-to-earth as opposed to Superman.

At Clark and Lana at a formal party, as a couple:

How Clark's life would had ended up if he lost his powers as a teenager back in Smallville:

Superboy switches bodies with his future self - Superman:

Big thanks to sjleone for the scans and the write-up!

Clana's Genesis - Spoiler or Speculation posted by Webmistress on 8-16-2007 @ 7:01pm

SPOILERS BELOW

From Watch With Kristin on E!Online.com:

quote:
"The Smallville season premiere is still weeks away, but my inbox has been overloaded with questions regarding L.L.—not Mr. Cool J (though we have scoop on him today) or Lindsay Lohan, mind you, but one Miss Lana Lang.

Yes, she might have been blown to smithereens in last May's season finale, but as my crack team announced in the spoiler chat on Monday, Kristin Kreuk has signed on for the upcoming season and Lana will definitely be back. So, inquiring fans want to know, how the bloody hell are the writers gonna pull off that?!

Well, Big, Fat Spoiler Alert! Let me be the first to tell you the inside storyline scoop: Lana's salvation involves cloning. Yep, you heard me right. Cloning! The Francinator and Buffy Bot had better step aside, because TV has a new Doublemint twin of freaky-deaky generation.

I'll tell you more in Monday's chat, but for now you gotta tell me in the Comments section below: Am I the only one giggling at the thought of Lana 2.0? I mean, this is Smallville, and I'm sure the writers will knock it out of the park, but I just can't shake the feeling Clana's genesis will somehow involve lonely Lex, a bottle of tequila and a little weird science."
My money on her source being some speculation on some message board... tell me I'm wrong! Either way it's a win/win in my book, two Clark's and two Lana's maybe being within the same episode? Can one really complain?

Thanks to Rhiannon for the info!
